I have programming knowledge of Foxpro for Dos 2.5. Wish to upgrade my
programming skills. I have installers of "Foxpro for Windows" and "Visual
Foxpro 6". Which one is better to start?

Thanks for any replies and help.

Don't use Foxpro for Windows anymore.
Take VFP 9, not 6.
Be aware: you have to learn a lot of new things. Now it is OOP time and this is
very different from FP/DOS and also from Foxpro for Windows.

Go for Visual FoxPro 9.0

Why learn anything as old as what you mention?

Forget FP Windows. If you want to start with VFP 6.0, that's OK
although rather old.

The paradigm is nothing like DOS or FP Windows. You have to learn
Object Orientation, OOP, Visual Development, COM, etc.

Hi Trish:

Definitely go with VFP 9.0.

You can get my good VFP books from www.hentzenwerke.com that may help you
learn the program. Another good book is Object Orientation in Visual FoxPro
by Savanna Brentnall. The book was written for VFP 3.0 but the OOP concepts
are still valid.

I hope this helps.
