       Perhaps V. 5.0 knows nothing about W2K's install program, but presumably the people who designed them both took that into account in W2K since, as you say, VFP 5 didn't become "obsolete" until last year even by MS's abandonment notions
   
    Since VFP 5.0 was officially made obsolete last year (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];LifeDevToolFam for details), you might want to consider updating to VFP 8.0 (the 9.0 public beta is coming in June 2004!)

    Are you aware that such an upgrade would cost nearly $400?  After the new motherboard, that's my computer budget for the next decade.
