Is there a way to make a VFP 8.0 exe run as a service? I have a
server program which needs to respond to Lan connections  accept
transferred files process them and move them up one more level. ALl
need to be done in background. Would like to make this program a
service if possible.

TIA

This is what microsoft says on that subject:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;137890

To add:
In your foxpro exe make sure, you have no user interaction,
even no wait windows, messageboxes etc., then issue an
SYS(2340,1) quite at the beginning of your exe.

Bye, Olaf.

Hi Patrick,

There's a download on the UniversalThread (www.universalthread.com) that may
help: #13560, "Run a Vfp exe as a Service."

If I'm not a premium member, how do I get to this message?  I searched for
it, and found it, but can't actually access it.

On the main UT screen (before you even log in) scroll down to downloads
under the Visual FoxPro section.  From the download screen, enter the ID
number that Cindy provided and press Enter.  No need to log in, no
restricted access.
