Hi
Why in Textboxes in Farsi language, cursor move incorrect direction,
in "Regional and Languages Options" from "Control panel" we select our Own
as "Farsi" and country as "Iran" and installed Right-to-Left languages.
In forms we set "Right to Left" as .T. (and Textbox Right to Left Property).
so we cant type correct but when we want to edit a string, THE CURSOR MOVE
INCORRECT!
in Oracle we see this mistake but for it we must set "Regional and Languages
Options" from "Control panel" we select our Own as "Arabic (U.A.E.)"!!!!
for more information you can type a string in Textbox or EditBox and then
from Middle of it, select and mark some characters with pressing Shift+Left
Arrow

Hi Saed:

What version of VFP are you using? I know there were some bugs with the
RighttoLeft property in VFP 7.0.  Some were corrected in VFP 8.0 SP1.

I hope this helps.

I am using VFP8 SP1 but it has this mistake

when I want edit an string that wrote in Textbox, my cursor move not
correct!
Remember that my own is Farsi and my Location is IRAN (No Arabic)

I am testing this commands from 3 Years ago but this mistake!!

You know about Iran and USA and I think that will be some politics!
I am sorry but I want to work, understand, etc ...

Please help me again
go to:
Control panel/Regional and language options
change your own to Farsi/ and your locating to IRAN
in advanced TAB set to Farsi in non-Unicode
and test it again
thank you

Hi Saed,

I believe the problem is that all those left-to-right people have
no idea what they are doing while typing Farsi. Me for example -
I followed your steps

> Control panel/Regional and language options
> change your own to Farsi/ and your locating to IRAN

Additionally beforehand in the "Languages" tab, under
"Supplemental Language Support", I had to check "Install files
for ... right-to-left languages ...

> in advanced TAB set to Farsi in non-Unicode

There was only one "Farsi" option afterwards in my case, did I
choose the right one?

Then I made a form with a single textbox, text1.RightToLeft=.T.
While typing some beuatiful characters I saw the insertion point
moving from left to right, which actually is the misbehaviour, right?
If not, can you provide some further steps-to-reproduce, and
"Expected" vs. "Observed" descriptions?

-Stefan
