Dear all IBM users,

I need a exact version of DB2 v7.1.0.8 Runtime Client for Windows as
my CD-R cannot be read anymore. I have searched the IBM FTP and Web
sites but I cannot found the exact version.

The IBM FTP site
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ps/products/db2/fixes/english-us/db2winv7/client/runtime
has the runtime clients for the various fixpack levels

The volume label in drive S is NETDRIVE.
Directory of
S:\ibmftp\ps\products\db2\fixes\english-us\db2winv7\client\runtime
11-09-02  11:46a     <DIR>           0  .
11-09-02  11:46a     <DIR>           0  ..
6-26-01  12:00a  21675759           0  FP1_WR21198_RTClient.zip
9-26-01  12:00a  24320330           0  FP3_WR21254_RTClient.zip
9-23-01  12:00a  24585878           0  FP4_WR21270_RTClient.zip
12-19-01  12:00a  24554387           0  FP5_WR21294_RTClient.zip
3-22-02  12:00a  24597200           0  FP6_WR21299_RTClient.zip
10-07-02  10:29a  24607978           0  FP7_WR21311_RTClient.zip

The IBM Web site
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=71&context=SSEPGG&q1=fixpak&q2=clien
t&uid=swg21259593&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en

has the runtime clients for the various fixpack levels as the same as
IBM FTP site.

FP1_WR21198_RTClient.zip is DB2 Runtime Client v7.1.0.1 but I need
v7.1.0.8

I have called IBM support but they said the DB2 version has been out
of support in 2004.

Is anymore has the backup of the CD-R? Please assist with obtaining
the specific version. I have captured the db2level as below FYI.

C:\PROGRA~1\SQLLIB\BIN>db2level
DB21085I  Instance "DB2" uses DB2 code release "SQL07010" with level
identifier "02020105" and informational tokens "DB2 v7.1.0.8",
"s001009" and
"WR21198e".

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,
Christine

No it's not ;-)

That's true.

See this last line?  It shows the PTF number of your fix level - WR21198e.
That looks like it's FP1_WR21198_RTClient.zip to me.

(Note that, for the most part, the v8 client should suffice as well...
though you may face other battles there - getting third-party support for
it, and such, though you're already in largely-unsupported land anyway, so
it can be worth a shot if all else fails.)

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I have downloaded FP1_WR21198_RTClient.zip from IBM FTP and web sites.
And I have installed it.
It is DB2 v7.1.0.1 Runtime Client for Windows.

Do you have DB2 v7.1.0.8 Runtime Client for Windows? Please help!

Thanks a lot!

Best regards,
Christine
