I did see some fixpack download pages. but it did not seem like it
contains the full code.

I am looking for Linux 32 bit. Can you give me the link to the

I did see some fixpack download pages. but it did not seem like it

i had worked 4 yrs back in db2 in version 8.1 when it was latest, but
since then i have been working in oracle and does not seem to remember
a lot of db2.
Is there a base release of v8.2 at all or do i have to go the 8.1 and
fixpack route?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Subash.

Go to this FTP site
ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/
and download this directory. I beleive that for Linux you can install the
latest fixpack without the base code.

Thanks Mark, I will try to install this.
So, Is there no base release for 8.2, which can be downloaded?
This FP16 is basically 8.1 FP16. I understand this is equivalent to
8.2 FP9. But just for my understanding, Is there a 8.2 base and 8.2FP9
as well. Will that be exactly same as 8.1FP16
What is the proper channel to download these softwares? passport
advantage?
Thanks again for your help.
Subash.

Hey Subash,
8.2 functionality was delivered as a fixpak (FP7) to 8.1. To my
knowledge, there is no "base 8.2" download, you start with 8.1 and
apply whichever fixpak you want from there. They're cumulative so you
don't need to apply more than the one you want. I do get my downloads
through passport advantage so that's the mechanism I'm familiar with.
And don't forget to check out DB2 9. :-)

1. Please post as text only in this newsgroup.
2. Please do not top post.
3. There is a 8.2 base release (download) and it should be (or at least was)
available on passport advantage. It was available as a "try and buy" on the
IBM website, but 8.2 has been withdrawn from marketing (support is withdrawn
30 April 2009).
