Has anyone succeeded in downloading (via FTP) and installing FP9a for
Windows 32-bit version?

I tried at least 3 times. Download appears fine, but when it comes to
install, it returns 'not a valid Win32 application'.

Thanks!

I downloaded and installed FP9a for Windows 32-bit version on Windows XP
Professional. This was installed on top version 8.1 base code installed
previously. used an FTP program call SmartFTP. No problems encountered.

However, one thing that I have noticed about the DB2 for Windows download
file is that I have unzip the files to a folder first, and then run the
setup program. You can do that by opening the EXE file with WinZip and
extracting the files to a folder. If you just execute the downloaded EXE
file, it usually does not work.

Hi Mark,

I got the following when I did the way you said:

'Winzip cannot open this file. It does not appear to be a Zip file'

In the past, I as able to double-click the downloaded file and it
self-extracts. It does not appear so this time.

Here is where I download from:
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/udb/support/downloadv8_windows32bit.html

The resultant size of download is 369,553 KB (Windows workgroup FP9a).

Thanks!

Please disregard the previous email.

The size is 420,021 KB after the 4th attempt of download. The previous
download of smaller size could indicate the zip file is somehow
corrupted.

Thanks again!
