connecting to SQL server table

hi,
i have read about create server and create nickname commands in DB2 UDB
can i use these commands to create nicknames for sql server tables ?
do i need Information Integrator or not ?

As soon as you leave IBM relational data sources (DB2 all platforms &
Informix) then you require WII. In addition you will require ESE
(enterprise server edition) in order to use II.
