Hi,

is there a good visual modelling tool for db2? I used to use fabforce
DBDesigner but it seems to produce sql statements don't work well with
db2? Is there a tool from IBM, because I would access for academic purpose.

Regards,

Andi

Have you taken a look at the Rational tool sets?

Good question, I second that.   I'd like something that can handle MQT,
MDC flawlessly, allow CASE-style models, etc.

Hmmm, the ability to reverse engine multiple databases and diagram
their replication interfaces would be fabulous but probably too much to
wish for (I've just inherited a monster).

I used erwin in 2003, but it screwed up the identities and now that it
is owned by CA it's very aggravating to deal with support.  Too bad,
used to be a nice tool.  Maybe it's better since then though?

I used PowerDesigner years ago.  It was ok, but not wonderful.

Embarcadero produces a good modeling tool. Can anyone recommend it for
db2?

Anything else that should be considered?

I use Embarcadero's ERStudio with DB2 and it seems to work fine,
including reverse engineering.

Hi!

We are using Sybase's PowerDesigner
(http://www.sybase.com/products/developmentintegration/powerdesigner).
Our database has over 2000 tables.

Best regards,
