We are in the process of migrating from version 7, running on an OS/2
server to version 8.2, running on a Windows 2003 server.  I did not do
the install on the Windows server.  When I try to schedule a job, such
as backing up a database, and I save it as a task, it does not run.  If
I try to run the task manually from the Task Center, I get a message
something like 'Task "1".""0" could not be found' and it suggests I
verify that it is in the Task Center.  I have installed version 8.2 on
a Windows XP computer that I use for testing, and I can schedule jobs
or run them from the Task Center.  Has anyone encountered problems like
this with the Task Center?  I have tried dropping the Toolsdb and
creating a new tools catalog, but I get the same results.  I have
migrated two of our production databases for testing.  Can I reinstall
DB2 and not effect the databases I have migrated?

Yes..

You will have to re-catalog the databases after the install.

I recall hearing that others have had similar problems with DB2 on Windows
2003 Server. I would open a PMR with IBM, or at the very least check the
Google Groups archive to see if someone has a solution.

You can recatalog the databases after a new install, but I would also take
an offline backup.

You could always install DB2 on Linux....

That would give you a saner environment than Windows server 2003
