I get the above error when issueing the 'db2start' command.

Found no info in the net that could help me. I have the V8.1 FP10 installed
on SLES 9 x86_64

Any tips?

Tx in advance

If there anything useful in db2diag.log or the other DB2 logs?

That's where I'd look for additional information.

I found the db2diag.log and i don't think there's anything usefull there.
It ends with a Hex Dump from the sam error "unexpected system error"
could it have something to do with fixpack10?
'cause before i update it with the fixpack, everything works perfectly...

I'm really not sure what the problem is but the timing of the problem is
awfully suspicious: I'd suspect a problem with the fixpack too if I were in
your shoes! Do a Google Groups search on this newsgroup looking for
"fixpack10" (or "fp10") to see if anyone has been posting problems with that
fixpack.

One other thought: sometimes a shutdown and reboot of the whole computer is
helpful for an SQL1042C if I remember correctly.

Have you done the db2iupdt function?  what version did you come from (fp
level)?

I assume fp3 (where i didn't work asswel), but it wasn't really a fixpack,
cause i came from installing the downloaded version of V8.1 (where i had
that problem too), and the fixpack didn't fix the problem :)
