error when inserting xml into database - string literal too long

That is correct (native xml support)

I used parameter markers and it did work.  I inserted it as a string.
Is this the best way to do it? Or is there a better way.

When I retrieve the xml using Rational Application Developer with my
java code I do something like...
String xml = resultSet.getString("XML");

The value is just a bunch of characters that make no sense. Do I need
to use a different get method on it? Which one?

Woud you suggest posting this somewhere else?
