db2 Backup using TSM

We are on Db2 v 8.2 for Linux

If we need to use TSM for backup of DB2, do we need to have TSM client
installed on the database server.

if yes, do we need to purcahse it separately or is it freely
downloadable.

For sure, you need TSM API installed on your DB2 Server.
