Have you actually installed the AIV Extenders.  The Image Extender is a part
of this package.

What exactly do you want to do with those images?  If you just want to store
them (as BLOBs maybe), then you can probably go with a much more
light-weight approach.

Another alternative would be an extender like that one:

Hi Knut,
Actually I didn't install any of the Extenders. I am not able to do
here. If possible , Please guide me. Coming to the usage, I want to
store the images & retrieve them back , in order to use them in
preparing the questions for online examination .

As already mentioned, please look at using the BLOB data type, which is
described in the CREATE TABLE section of the "SQL Reference VOL 2". You may
not need the Image Extender to store images if the BLOB data type meets your
needs.

Right.  The only real use of the Image Extender is (as far as I'm concerned)
the content based query options.  But this content-based stuff is not
extremely powerful.  It only provides average color, color histogram,
positional color, texture, and combinations thereof.  Shapes etc. are not
handled, unfortunately.
