How can I connect from DB2 to ORACLE Version 7.1 on VMS

I would like to query an ORACLE 7.1 database on VMS from DB2 (IBM 390).
Appreciate any help on How to:

You can set up DB2 on 390 as a DRDA-AR, purchase Websphere Federation
Server on an Intel/Unix/Linux box and set it up as a DRDA-AS, and have
the Websphere Federation Server in turn connect to the Oracle database
on VMS. So you issue the SQL on DB2/390, it is passed to the Federation
Server on Intel/Unix/Linux, and then the Federation Server "translates"
to Oracle on VMS. Only question I have is whether Oracle on VMS is
supported by Federation Server. I believe that the only requirement is a
supported version of SQLNet/Net8 that can run on the Federation server,
but I'm not sure.

My question here is, is WebSphere Federation Server really with $125,000? I
almost had a heart attack when I saw that price. And I was really looking
forward to utilizing it, too.
It seems like it'd be nice if pricing were based on the number of different
source types you are federating. We only want to talk to Oracle, and we
have need for the dozen or so others, so why pay for it?

Hmmm. I didn't know the price ... not something I usually get involved
with. It's predecessor, Websphere II had pricing based on processors and
on # of backend data sources. Not sure why it's changed. Do you have an
IBM rep you can ask?
