Can anyone tell me the URL to download the ifo centre for v9?  I've gone
nearly blind looking for it.

Note to IBM:  MAKE THIS STUFF EASIER.  Even the search function, when given
"db2 v9 information center download" came back with billions of entries,
and the relevence filter helped not one iota.  :(

It seems there is no permanent link to. A link is always obscured by session id, user id, or other garbage.
But I can give you a way: start from DB2 Product family home page:
    http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/

next, click on "DB2 Manuals" link in the "Highlights" frame ( right bottom corner of the page ).

On the next page ( titled "DB2 9 for Linux UNIX and Windows Manuals" ), the 4th paragraph from the top contains a wee "downloadable version" link. For now, this is a

That's not a thing we can expect from IBM'ers, I suppose.

Hi Konstantin ... thanks for your feedback. We're in the midst of
making some changes to the web site to make finding this easier.

Starting from http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/support/db2_9/:

* The "Technical Resources" link will shortly take you to a page with
links to ALL downloadable information, including PDF books and
information center.

* The link under Related Resources on this page that appeared as "DB2
database product documentation (PDF)" has been renamed to
"Downloadable DB2 database product documentation". The target of this
link is the same page as above, which lists ALL downloadable
documentation resources.

* We're going to add a link to the downloadable infomration centers to
the information center itself. This will happen in an update scheduled
to be delivered in the near furture.

For your reference, the information center can be downloaded from
https://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/iwm/web/reg/pick.do?lang=en_US&source=swg-
dm-db2doce&S_TACT=dm-db2doce
.
We also recently made available a version of the downloadable
information center that can be run without requiring administrative or
root authority on your computer.  It is also available from this site.
(Note: you'll need to register with IBM.com first, if you haven't
already).

Ack!  The first URL in my posting was corrupted. The sentence should
read "Starting from http://www-306.ibm.com/software/data/db2/support/db2_9/
".

Yes, but locally installable IC does not become more "findable". As earlier, only a wee link in the midst of stream of text.

In my personal opinion, it would be optimal to have this link right near link to online IC. For instance, instead of column (on http://www.ibm.com/software/data/db2/support/db2_9/)

| Learn
| * Information center

to have a column

| Learn
| * Information center (download)

or something like that. Not very systematic, but *very* convenient...

This is great.
