Jeff,
I learned in the DB2 9 Transition course, that there is a new inter-database
(inter-instance) communication.
So each database sets its own free memory target based on its need for
memory relative to other databases.
You can give it a try with two database on one system. You can see what
happen in the stmm log, when you start the
first database with a workload. After a while start the second database and
look how multiple databases sharing the memory on the same box.
