DB2 LUW 8.2 FP15

When going from FP14 to FP15, is it necessary to
issue the db2updv8 command for each database?

Is this only intended to be used when moving from
8.1 to 8.2 (ie FP7), or is it now a standard part
of any fixpak install?

TIA

The following (from the FP15 readme [1]) would seem to suggest that it's
part of any (post FP4) fixpak installation:

"""
After installing DB2 Universal Database (UDB) Version 8.2 FixPak 4
*and later*, run the db2updv8 command to update the system catalogs...
"""

However I suppose that could be interpreted to mean "if installing FP4 or
above on a pre-FP4 installation...". It also explicitly states it's an
optional step:

"""
Running the db2updv8 command is *not required*, but some functionality in
DB2 UDB Version 8.2 will not work if this command is not run.
"""

In other words, I'm not sure but I doubt there's any harm in doing it
even when it's not required so you may as well go ahead and run it (ISTR
I've run it after each fixpak install on my servers).
