When I installed IDS 9.30 UC1 on Linux the system built a sample server for
me. I was impressed :-)
But I have been trying to install IDS 9.40.UC2 on Linux and the system
didn't build a server for me.
Now I accept that I don't exactly need help in building a server (no rude
comments please) but why has this useful facility been removed from the
system?
Is it something I am doing wrong?

Hi malcolm.
Have you try ids_install ?
0) All Products listed below
1) IBM Informix Dynamic Server 9.40
2) IBM Informix IConnect
3) IBM Informix JDBC version 2.21
4) IBM Informix System Administrator
5) Configure a Demo IDS Server (requires IDS)
Then choose 5.
Regards.

That just could be my problem. The version I have of 9.40UC2 does not have
the ids_install script.
I have 9.40.UC1 installed in a different directory and that does have it.
regards
Malcolm
