missing install instructions/pieces

I downloaded the Linux package, IIUG-IDS-9-4-UC2-linux.zip to install
on Fedora core. I had no trouble setting the environment, or using cpio
or installing the server, using installserver or running the
RUN_AS_ROOT.server piece. I received no errors and was returned to the
prompt. What I'm missing is some kind of config setup for the server
itself. Reading the Unix/Linux install guide refers to the "IBM
Informix Bundle Installer", I did not see that or the mentioned
options, however the install guide speaks also of choosing to install
the demo database, I didn't get that option with using the
installserver binary. I also didn't see anything about the option of
installing the "IBM Informix Server Administrator". I've got copies of
the Install guide for Linux/Unix, install for Unix and Informix IDS
Admin Guide. I would expect to find a binary that would give me options
of installing different pieces, demo, ISA and others but have not found
it. In the Guide for Linux, it refers to the ISA in
$INFORMIXDIR/ISA/bin/isactl,  I do not have the ISA directory
structure.

1. Is there a fuller 9.4 package for Linux versus what's on the IIUG
website?
2. Am I missing pieces I need to download?
3. Is there a better verbose installation document?

Thanks,

Paul

From IIUG you only get the database... all the rest you have to try to download it mnually, or if you have a passport (ie: a lot of money) you could download a "bundle" who has all you need, but: You need to pay...

I could be wrong, so I'll be glad for someone to correct me.

Chucho!

PD:

Try: www.informix.com (yeah... is still live) and check your right: A download for an IDS 9.4 UC5 trial...

But (there is always a _but_ with IBM), you need to have an account, and if you're that lucky then you need to be considered _apt_ due to export laws...

... There is always something when you try to trial/test something related to informix ...

Hi Paul,

You may take a look to a quick guide I'm doing:
http://www.lacorona.com.mx/fortiz/informix/tcp.htm

It's no fully translated yet, but at least you can use the server part.

Thank you for the help. The Linux Informix download
from IBM was much smoother to install. However, I
noted
that the Java/HTTP pieces installed when I had the web
server UP.
