Anyone else using this platform for IDS?

I am not impressed by performance of 9.40 on this platform so far. It's
only about 25% faster than standard engine on our old AIX box! For
reference the hardware we have:

2x1Ghz CPU, HPUX 11.23, IDS 9.4, rootdbs, datadbs, indexdbs all on same
LV.
6gb ram
EMC array, 4gb cache, part of 6x72gb disk, raid 5 [yes I know, have no
choice at present]

I am comparing that to:
4xCPU, AIX 5
1.5gb ram
No disk array, 3 9gb disks

What's worse is that the AIX system is used by other developers so
testing is impacted by their activity.

I'd like to compare notes with what anyone else in this environment.

A better comparison would be IDS 9.4 on both platforms. I imagine that SE beats IDS (even Online) giving its simplicity in some kind of situations.

We used IDS 9.3/HP-UX and migrated to 9.4/HP-UX and both PA-RISC and we gain substantial benefit.

We are planing to migrate to IDS 9.4/Itanium and we're hoping to gain performance again.

Obviously when we do this, We can say if the migration was worth.

I don't know about SE, but the word I got from IBM was:

9.40 is on about the same performance level as 7.31

9.21 was very slow, and 9.3 was in between them all

I might get 7.31 loaded up and give it a whirl, see how it fairs against
9.4. If I can get around the beaurocracy that stifles.
