Hi,

New to this Usenet group :)
And this is my first posting,,,

I run IDS 7.31 TD6 on a NT4 box today and are planing to move to a
Windows 2000 Server with SP4.

When I try to install TD6 on Windows 2000 Server with SP4 (without any
security or other patches installed - its a "clean" SP4 installation)
the installation fails when the Server Instance Manager tries to build
and start a new Instance.

In the Event Viewer Security Log I get this message:

"Only user informix can start Informix Dynamic Server"

I am running the installation as user Informix (and Informix is Local
Administrator on the box). I run the installation on the Console and
are not using any kind of Termnial Server!

Have anyone experienced this problem when installing TD6?
Would be nice If anyone could help me out :D !?!?!?

Hi,

If you created an "Informix" user with a capital 'I', that could be a
problem. Suggest you uninstall, delete your informix user, re-install as
user Administrator and let the install program create an informix user
with the appropriate user rights.

Guy

Thanx Guy!!!

As you suggested the informix user should not be created with a catipal
'I'.
When I installed as Administrator the installation procedure created a
user 'informix' and after that the installation was successful.

And I was beliving that NT/Windows always is case insensitive!!!
