John Lennon's band while he was in high school was a skiffle band called
"The Quarrymen," AKA "Johnny and the Moondogs."  Paul joined the band
and eventually brought in George and they dropped the skiffle tunes and
switched to covers of Everly Brothers, Elvis, Chuck Barry, Little
Richard, etc.  This band they renamed the "Silver Beetles," which
quickly changed to "Silver Beatles," to indicate that they played "beat"
music.  They dropped silver around the time the started playing for real
money.  The rest, as the say, is history.

Neil does have a bit of a tin ear, to be fair. Or he wouldn't be listening
to the Spice Girls in the first place.

Travel broadens a person. You look as if you have been all over the world.

I went to the airport to check in and they asked what I did because I
looked like a terrorist. I said I was a comedian. They said, "Say
something funny then." I told them I had just graduated from flying
school.

Thanks for clearing that up.

So, I take it "skiffle" is just another word for crap?
