ISA: Java not working on AIX 5.2.4(64bit)

he guys.
The ISA archive for AIX (1.50UC1) does not come with the JRE. For some
reason the installation does not see the installed version 1.41 as
valid.

Anyone have any idea how to solve this?

Everything is pure IBM here.

Yes, and it's not just a problem for AIX because it's a bug in the
install script.  Over two U releases of 9.40 ago I complained about
it, filed a bug about it, and even opened a support case on it.  Heck,
I even sent IBM my simple patch to the script to get the install
working properly...  they promptly ignored it and still haven't fixed
it to this day.

It's pretty easy to figure out the fix, but kind of a bother to bust
open the cpio file, patch it, and re-cpio it just so that the install
script is aware that Sun released at least two versions of Java after
1.3.

I'd just send it to you, but IBM doesn't pay me to do their tech
support or QA.

Ho hum.  Same crapola, different day.
