On IDS     10.00 when I  trying to startup it remains eternally.  In
another screen (onstat -) appears IBM Informix Dynamic Server Version
10.00.UC6TL -- Fast Recovery (CKPT REQ) -- Up 03:37:18 -- 685576
Kbytes Blocked:CKPT.

That I must do?

Post the output from onstat -m and onstat -l.

I suspect that you have your logical logs full and needing backup, or
something along those lines.  Either add some more logs or do the
archive.  If that isn't the problem, send the onstat outputs suggested
by The Spud (aka The Big Potato).

Well, you could try setting LTAPEDEV to /dev/null, as you do not have a
backup you will be in no worse position throwing your log backups down
/dev/null.

And this is a fairly new instance (switching to Log 5 then log 6).

Run onmode -ky and then set LTAPEDEV to /dev/null and then try starting up.

Where did this instance come from (i.e. is this a fairly recent new
instance? or a "copy" from another machine?)

Post the output from onstat -l, I suspect that your logical logs are full
and need to be archived.
