Why would anyone think you are kidding? Perhaps it is more palatable
when you say it then when I do.
Perhaps those same people ought to look at where the sales of new z10s
are coming from while they're doing that research.

Well, what that really means is that you need to have a staff of 3 or
more DBAs to manage a fair number of instances.
With IDS, you need only 2. Why 2? Because that's the least number of
DBAs that you can have due to "hit by truck" risks. ;-)
The comment was said by someone that many in this group know. He was
repeating a quote from an IBMer, or so he says.
Now while its true, one can make more money doing Oracle work, its
mainly because well, the quality of Oracle DBAs and developers is
staggeringly bad.
But the truth is that the statement is more of and excuse or a cop-
out. If a Jeff Boudreaux could sell Sears IDS back in the early 90s,
(Or was that Dan Scanell?) then anyone can sell IDS to customers.
(Yeah, you have to go way back to know those names and be familiar
with the office in Chicago. ;-)
But hey! What do I know? I'm just a guy who's attracting sock puppets
who's schmeke is smaller than their pinkies. ;-)

LOL,
I guess if you don't like the truth, you just try to wash it away.
