I need to create a log file for an Ingres 2 installation (as a regular
filesystem file) ASAP. I don't have any manuals. Can anybody tell me
the command/paramters to use for this?

Many Thanks,

Hi Adrian,

This is done for you by default as you install Ingres.

You can alter the file size, implement dual logging etc afterwards by
using CBF. The only caveat being Ingres must be down.

Exactly what are you trying to do?

Assuming you are talking about the transaction log, just log in as ingres
and run cbf.  Choose Transaction Log from the list of components.  Choose
Configure from the menu, and if the log needs to be created you will see a
Create option in the menu.  You will be prompted for the size of the log
file.

Do you know what happened to the old transaction log file?
