Cannot Re-Install Ingres

While trying to unistall Ingres 2006-9.1.0 the uninstaller encountered
an error and rolled back. When I tried to re-install, the installer
refused to run because the unistall had failed. Even after doing a
complete reinstall of Windows including reformating the C: drive the
installer still won't run and gives the same error.  There is no
evidence of Ingres on my system so what is preventing the installer
from running?

Further things to consider:
- have you completely scrolled through the whole GPL licensing
agreement? It's necessary to do this before accepting.
- is DotNet framework installed? But normally Ingres installer
  should have this included...

If it is a fresh install of Windows 2003 (or Vista I have heard) you are
missing some DLL's - mfc7, mfc7u, msvcp71, msvcr7r. Install died
silently when I tried this.

The install expects these to be in the windows system 32 dir.

I have opened a ticket with Ingres and they send me these files (or find
them on another system and place them in the install
\files\msredist\system32 dir)

Regards,
Peter
