Hi

perhaps I'm doing the wrong thing here, or perhaps the system is detecting my
downloading from a windows platform, but when I go to:

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/index.html
it says:

Oracle JDeveloper (10.1.3.4) July 2008
Certified on Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux, and Macintosh.

but when I follow up to:

http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/jdev/htdocs/soft10134.html

I can only see the choice for windows downloads.

where can I get this for Linux?

thanks

I keep my undies on, if you don't mind. But when I go to this link, I see a
Windows Install and a Base Install. Base Install is for all platforms.

no problems ... you're following up not replying anyway (that's for SMTP)

ok ... I had thought (but had not tried) that this was a "base install" not
including the JDK ... I'll download it n see

thanks

Correct, base install is without JDK, and hence for all platforms. You'll
have to find a JDK yourself  ;-)

I meant a *platform specific* base install ... NB a windows only base install

but I'll try it in a few hours

ok ... I've downloaded it, but it seems that the files are wrongly placed.

as the file for "Base Install For all the platforms (without JDK)" is:

http://download.oracle.com/otn/java/jdeveloper/10134/jdevstudiobase10134.zip

but when I download it I get a file in the root of the zip file called
jdeveloper.exe which seems to be a windows exe

help appreciated
