I have two separate C++ programs that both use the same set of Paradox
tables for different purposes. When I open one program up, and then I
open the other program up, I have to make sure I close them in reverse
order. If I close the first program before the second, the second will
freeze. Why does this happen and what can I do about it?

Did you write the programs?
Do they use the BDE to access the tables?
What is the table level of the Paradox tables?

I did not write the programs. My immediate predecessor did.
Yes they do use BDE to access the tables.
Also, I am using WIndows XP.
What is "table level"?
