We use a Filemaker database to track the workflow on documents that are
modified enroute by several people. The documents themselves are in
Word, since we need to use the track changes feature.  Unfortunately,
sometimes versions get mixed up.

the directory is named with solution abbreviation, date, time, backup

Basically I am using 2 tables, Engineer and Task, one to many from
engineer to task.

I am using FM 9.3 to create a reference library for documents needed
in valuation of various financial assets. A table called Muni Bonds
has a field containing a URL of the document describing the bond in
detail. This document is in the PDF format, and could be anywhere from

three users do share access to a database.
Typical operations are scripted imports (with heavy auto-enter data
manipulation), which is done mainly by one
user. Other users do search/replace operations.

They all rhyme, but do they play nice?  I'm ignorant about internet
security, and have been hearing some alarming claims regarding opening
ports for Filemaker access.  The latest was someone who said that "all
the 5000 series ports are especially vulnerable and prone to attack."

I want to be able to migrate a large (many columns) FM table to a MySQL
view with minimal FM effort.  I want to normalize the data in MySQL and
present a de-normalized view for FM because of the many scripts that are
written for the current DB structure.  Can I do this by accessing ...
