We upgraded to Ingres 2006 9.1.1 NPTL on Linux Itanium last weekend.
All was well for about 3 days then it crashed during a Consistency Point.

We have a journalled Ingres 2.0 database (we're on extended support) which writes
journal files infrequently.
Journal block size : 16384
Initial journal size : 4

We'll be doing work requiring planned down time on Saturday September
27th. This work will affect the community infrastructure including
bugs.ingres.com, code.ingres.com, and inspect.ingres.com.
The work is part of efforts to hook the various services to LDAP

I just found out that if I use alterdb -i <dbname> and the command can't
get a database lock it fails silently.
Which isnt as useful as you may think! And that was a fun way to spend
10 minutes.
