I haven't had much experience with databases since my one class in
college. Now I need one, or at least a prototype for my application
that I can make into a real database later.
At any rate. I cranked it up Access and made my first table:

I have a task at hand to reduce the time taken for search query to
execute. The query fetches records which will have to sorted by
degrees away from the logged in user. I have a function which
calculates the degrees, but using this in the search query slows the

I have an oracle database with a transactions table.
One field is the versus (Entry or Exit), another is the transaction time.
I have to extract who have a difference between last yesterday exit
transaction and first today entry transaction less then 11 hours
