allow user abort (off)31 Jan 2004 05:39 GMT4
I am designing my own password/authentication scheme for a multi-file
run-time solution (because I can't figure a way to allow users to
"change password" using the built-in FM password for ALL files at
once--they would have to "change password" for EACH file!).   The

Why is FMP4 file with zero records so huge?29 Jan 2004 23:58 GMT2
I had a FMP4 (Mac) file with a few thousand records in it. I did the
"delete all" command and waited a FEW HOURS until there were no more
records. Now the file is about 7mb or 13mb depending on the version of
saved copy I look at. What's going on? How do I get it back to 'empty'

Returning to the same line of a pop-up list29 Jan 2004 15:32 GMT8
I am selecting Line Items for a Purchase Order by using a Pop-up List
containing an Index of the related Product File.  The order entry process
would be much more efficient if every subsequent entry after the first,
could return in the index line last used.     Is there a way to ...
Platform question29 Jan 2004 06:10 GMT4
I have a stand alone solution available on all the platforms.  Some of the
users who downloaded the Mac OS9 version are moving up to OSX - can I just
replace the runtime engine with an OSX version and have the solution work?
My assumption is that all the files are just data.

Our goal is to publish contents of a filemaker-Pro database to the

I thougt about copying the database-content into a MySQL Database

We have a number of databases being hosted on Filemaker Server 5.5 via
Appletalk and TCP/IP, and both PC and Mac users are normally able to connect
remotely using the 'Specify Hosts' option.
Something has happened that now prevents one of our PCs from getting in via
CDML with FM record level access28 Jan 2004 23:12 GMT3
I am using FM record level access in combination with CDML for a webbased
solutution. It is important that a user can only see his/her own records.
Therefore  the password set in the Web security DB is set to be able to only
browse, edit and delete based on limited access in FM. I ...
