I am using FM 7 on a Mac. I need to set up a database that contains
information on medicines. Each drug has a name, a unique ID number, and
a manufacturer. There are cases where one drug has more than one
manufacturer.

Is there a calculation field I can use to display a number field with
the correct signs and two decimal places.
example: I enter +6 or 6 and a display field shows +6.00
        I enter -1.5 and I get -1.50 (in red)

i have a contact database with over a thousand addresses in it which i
would like to export to apple's address book application. is this
possible?
i want to have everything in address book because it is integrated

The popups for FM 7 seem to be really, annoyingly slow. Anybody got a
hidden setting to cure this, or is this a known problem?

I've got a value list that is pulled from the database. Is there a way to have the field
blank?  I tried having a blank record, but it doesn't list the blank record. The Value
List is based off all entries in that field, so it is 'live'. I ws hoping I could do

Hi all from a FM newbie in FM 4
I am creating a small database of customers and I need to create a
'checkbox' field which will either be ticked or unticked.  Is Checkbox
the correct term ?

There's no way to import other databases as tables that I can see so
that everything is in one file.
Is there a utility that comes on the CD to do this that isn't part of
the trial version?

   It looks like we're angling towards using Filemaker
but I wondered, are there any problems to watch for
when installing it on a machine that already has a DB
installed?  ( For our scenario it would likely be Access

I have a DB with several users.
I have restricted it to show only their records!
Can I search the DB for a client and identify the user it belongs to even
though they don't show to other users.

I know this is a group for experts. I am using a freeware soft for
bookstore management made with file maker pro 5 and I have a problem
because I can not import a database of books because the catalog
import tool is locked.

Is there an easy way to create a script that will check for duplicates

I have a database with users who log in just fine... but I want to set
fields that can only be seen by some users and not others.
Such as SSN field. So if I can leave it blank for some users and show it for
others.
