How to execute a script by pressing RETURN?30 Nov 2004 04:25 GMT4
I have a spelling bee database which pronounces a word then allows the user
to type the spelling. When she finishes typing the word she has to press a
button (³Try It²) which runs a script to compare the spelling against the
correct spelling then proceed to another form which ...
New Layout30 Nov 2004 02:01 GMT4
WXP, FMD7: 93 Fields defined in one table.
Attempting to create an "All Fields" layout, I choose "New Layout" then
"Standard Form" then "Move All" and finally a format (Standard). So far,
everything is as always has been in my experience with previous versions.
Multiple Windows in FMP729 Nov 2004 23:20 GMT3
Not understanding what is supposed to happen in opening a new window.
I scripted a new window to open with some search entry fields. As I was
working on it, it behaved as I hoped: a smaller, uniquely named window
opened on top of the main window. I could enter the search criteria, ...
FMP7 shared database29 Nov 2004 23:13 GMT5
I have a medium sized FMP7 database that was originally developed in FMP4
and is still organized in its original 20+ separate files.  It's working
fine on a single OSX Mac, but now we're considering sharing it between two
office workers in different home offices.  I was thinking ...

Embracing the 7 concept29 Nov 2004 14:43 GMT6
I am still working on getting my arms around the FMP7 concept. This is going
to be interesting, because while I can do 7 on my WXP box, I still have to
do 6 on my Mac.
Do I understand correctly that where previously one would relate several
FM7 versus FM5.5, small or big difference?28 Nov 2004 20:30 GMT13
I'm thinking to upgrade from FM5.5 to FM7. How big is the difference between
them, I mean, do I have to learn FileMaker all over or is it just as easy to
use. How much has the interphase changed? Does it use completely different
oparators, functions and scriptsteps? I am Dutch and ...
add if not exist28 Nov 2004 18:40 GMT16
aother concept I can't get around my head: adding a record if it doesn't
already exist.
I want to *only conditionally* add a record... e.g. insert soft.. if
it's "key" (defined at run time) doesn't already exist.
