OK - this must be simple but I can't make it work:

I'm using FM8A and when I go to scriptmaker, the layout I'm in when I
do greatly limits my options.  If I want to work on a script that
affects a table unrelated to the one of the layout, for instance, I
can't sort by those 'unrelated' fields.

What is the trick here.  When I go to Auto Entry and enter CP-10000 and
increment by one all I get is CP-10001 for all records whether in text
or number form.  Have also tried validation, unique and validate with
calculation using serial (text;incrementBy) function.
