For some reason my USG port is not working anymore.  I was using a USB
optical mouse, and one day I rebooted the computer and it would not work, so
I plugged in my old mouse and it works fine.  What do I need to do in my

I would like to insure that if it is running and is minimized that it can
not be started again from Start->Programs or the desk top.
