I am trying to escape the special characters while executing the

I have created a INSERT trigger on table A in subsystem X. This AFTER
INSERT trigger will call a COBOL stored procedure, which inturn CONNECTs to
subsystem Y and inserts the same row into table B in subsystem Y.

I saw this post from 3 years ago regarding converting DOUBLE values to
CHAR in ibm DB2.  Now I'm having the same problem.  No real solution
was posted to that old thread.  Has anyone got more information how I
avoid the scientific notation when I use the CHAR() function to

Is there any way to tell how long it would take to run this script to update
my DB2 instance from 32-bit to 64bit given the size of my database, or does
the database size even matter for this update?

Putting together other messages from this group I managed to load
variable length csv data using d2cmd/db2 tools under Windows.  Another
catch was being able to load dates that may be null.
Here's the command I used:

I am a little confused by DB2 Backup and Export.

I need to collect dynamic SQL execution times for a production
database.  However, the totals are not being updated, despite setting

With a background in MS SQL Server programming I'm used to temporary
tables. Have just started to work with DB2 ver 7 on z/OS and stumbled
into the concept of GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE.
I have created a temporary database with a tables space. Verified that

a database of one of my customers chrashed two days ago. They have no
current backup - dont ask why but I think I have to shoot someone there.
I was able to restore most of the tables with db2dart. But I cant dump

Another complaint I would like to see corrected. The Information
Center tool is now pretty much useless to me. Does anyone else besides
me remember when information center had a troubleshooting tab that had
all of the messages that may appear as well as SQL error messages. The

I'm trying to install DB2 Enterprise Edition 8.1 (partitioned installation)
onto a clean Win 2k SP4 advanced server box. The problem is the partitioned
installation requires a "Domain User" account for the partition (at least

I just started downloading FP7 for DB2 V8 and happened to notice that
the file sizes for all flavors of FP7 are significantly smaller than
the corresponding FP6 file sizes.  With all the new function in FP7
(Stinger) I was expecting FP7 to be much bigger than FP6.  Are these
