I am getting reports from a customer saying my Java application is causing
the Informix server to crash. He reports that it started causing problems
when they started processing large amounts of data ( millions of rows? ).
They have had to restart the Informix server several times ...

We are using dbload for our ETL process.  We ran into an error today
for the first time on an existing process.
The error is
Cannot open raw data file  ->  (dirname)/(filename).

I am being told by our Informix var that the 7.3 RDS tools are buggy and have
issues with their product.  We currently use 7.2 with SCO.  We are/were planning
on buying a pair of Sun V880's with Solaris 9.  Although IBM won't sell or
support it on Solaris 9 will the 7.2 tools run?

after an so upgrade to  sun solaris 2.8 we had the informix updated
as well to
informix 7.31.fd6. For development porpuses we're using
IBM Informix-ESQL Version 9.53.FC2R1

is it possible with informix-sql creating an sql-statement with parameters
like in ms-access?
sample with access:
SELECT ArtikelName FROM Artikel

Does any body know what's IDS version I can use "oncheck -me partnum
<taget extent>" This option allow to merge all extents into single
extents and will not drop and recreate the table. Any info would be
