Howdy all. Does informix allow one to disable a trigger, essentially leaving it in place but toggled off? Or do I need to just drop a trigger, do whatever and then put the trigger abck when I want to "re-enable" it?

I would love an answer, but I am mainly sharing information. I have a database of about 3.5GB which I exported (without the -ss, as this is test) from IDS 7 and imported into IDS 9.4. This is something we have to do for a lot of our customers who are forced to change

Most database vendors offer free single-user downloads for experimentation, development etc. I seem to remember Informix being available like this a few years ago, but I can't find anything on the IBM website now.

I guess the subject says it all...is it safe? I dont really want to do my AIX hosted database backups over the network, but we have this nice shiney LTO drive that lives on a Windows 2003 server that I can use (via Veritas) to do backups. Is anyone doing this? Whats the gotchas,
