Hi - I would like to upgrade our database from 9.21 HC5 to 9.40.FC4, but have Perl applications reading from the database using DBD::Informix. Does anyone know if the DBD interface is tied to the specific version

Have any of you had problems with DBD::Informix and int8's? I am getting 99.15/99.87% OK, and the failing test is t85int8.t Running table creation and insert of big numbers in dbaccess appears to be peachy.

I'm trying to compile some elderly programs on a system we're migrating to IDS 10.0, 4GL 7.32 and ESQL , all FC versions, all on Solaris 9 on a 64-bit server. Solaris 9 doesn't come with a C compiler as standard, so I've installed gcc.

Quite interesting... I haven't used Oracle for years, but if what you state is true, then it is wonderfull!. From a developer's view then the optimizer always choose the best path and I figure it that _optimizer hints_ are things of the past. Maybe an Oracle trial is in order. J.
