ISM imported restore31 Dec 2005 18:25 GMT1
I want to do an imported restore to a system that has had ISM on it in
the past.  Even when I do ism_startup -init I find that all devices,
policies etc are still available.  I am wondering how much of the
$INFORMIXDIR/ism directory I need to wipe to get rid of that

RE: the ugly Americans and how the IIUG will save Europe29 Dec 2005 17:19 GMT4
LoL... I am relaxed!  I'm SO RELAXED I COULD EXPLODE! Just kidding :)
Yea, I know.  I was poking fun, mainly at IBM.  I'm not at all convinced
of THEIR loyalty to their product.  I've said it before... If IBM put as
much marketing into INFORMIX that they do into DB2, or as much as ...

Hey... I LIKE INFORMIX!  I have to put up with Oracle, MySQL, MS-SQL,
and a bunch of other home grown stuff using everything from old dBase to
MSAccess products... My preference is INFORMIX.  Now, with all that
stuff to put with, I think my loyalty to INFORMIX is pretty good, and

Informix manuals - imported restore29 Dec 2005 10:23 GMT4
Has anyone done an imported restore using onbar and ISM?
Apparently you can
a) use onbar/Ism on one host to backup to disk
b) restore onto another host (possibly without copying everything over)
why can't Online 5.20 be opensourced28 Dec 2005 23:16 GMT6
Even though I haven't see OL5.x after 1994, my memories of this
product has nothing but great. Superb speed, decent features.
Good for workgroup type computing. Surely even now this must be
better than the likes of MySQL.

Hi! I'm new in this, in my work, we are migrating to Informix from

when I gotta translate the function "Extract" from Oracle to something
similar in Informix. This function "extract" - as the word says -,
