We use Informix at work and I'd like to install a version of it on my
Ubuntu box at home so I can practise using it. Is there a free single-
machine version of Informix that can be downloaded from IBM?
I suppose I could always do bookwork at home and then practise at

I receive this error if I call my in ESQL-C written program from any
SPL-procedure with the command "system(/path_to_my_program/
my_program)".
The program works fine if I call it from command line.

When we run the query below we get an unexpectedly large number of
rows returned. when we put {+ORDERED} in the query the estimated rows
reduces from 9322036 to 12 even though the query plan is exactly the
same. Any ideas?

On a nightly basis we update our Q/A database with a copy from
production.  We do this by re-creating the db and then using a
combination of HPL and dbimport (for tables with a Text datatype) and
this process is taking about 10 and half hours.

An onstat -g iov shows the inverted pyramid. But aren't these io's per second really low ? Does this indicate a bottleneck somewhere ?

Yup - its still used, and I cannot remember how I did this last time.

Running IDS10.0.FC5 on Aix5.3, P570 server with FastT900 San and Tivoli 5.3.3.
Backed up terabyte database with onbar.
Restoring to different server.
Lately, the restore is taking an extraordinary amount of time, in the order of 48 hours. Only takes about 4 hours to back it up.
