Ik have some trouble installing Ingres II 2.5 on a Windows 2003
server.
Does anyone know why Ingres doesn't install corectly? Is Ingres II 2.5
supported on a Windows 2003 server?

We have an important system table (fimbul_status) that usually gives no
problems. However the last 2 days the number of deadlocks has rocketed, and
I suspect that it has something to do with this table (it is a very central
table used by many rules).

jdbc driver.
I'm using setBinaryStream to insert the stream (file) into the column and

Hi. I'm looking for case studies/advice regarding typical numbers of
disks to use for a fairly large database [*]. We want to speed-up disk
writes [singelton and bulk insert or update statements] so I am
advising use of more disks [typically we use 5 data locations and ask

We've just updated our server with patch 8172 and when we try to build an
ABF application using imageapp, we get the errors below.  I can't find any
help on it from the WEB and CA haven't got back to us yet on it so if anyone
has any ideas that would be great.  We're running Ingres ...

Hi list,
I wonder if indexes will be used when running a query that contains upper
function, example:
select * from mytable where upper(myfield) = 'ABC'

What the requirements are for the database server - cache, RAM, HD?
And besides requirements, what you  recommendations are?
I am not sure which of  SunFireV120, SunFire V210, SunFire V240 to chose.
