Solaris AMD31 Mar 2004 18:26 GMT1
The boss wants to know, and I figured I could find out here first:
Will there be (is there) a Solaris port of Ingres for the AMD 64bit
platform?  I saw that there is a 64bit AMD Linux port, but I didn't see
a Solaris port listed.

Building esqlc on win2K using gcc 3.3.1?30 Mar 2004 00:58 GMT2
Is there anything unusual you need to know when using gcc 3.3.1 to build
esqlc programs on Win2K or XP?
For a primitive, non form-based esql program I should be able to do
something like this:
Reloaddb and Hash Tables25 Mar 2004 20:36 GMT2
Maybe I've missed the boat somewhere...
When reloaddb creates a hash table, it does it in this order:
create columns
modify to hash

Supplying data to a 3GL program from Ingres18 Mar 2004 19:09 GMT2
We currently have Ingres ABF and OpenROAD procedures that use COPY ...
INTO statements to write data to disk files which then invoke 3GL
programs to process these files.
This works fine but there is now a need to avoid the use of explicit
ea gateway to Oracle18 Mar 2004 18:42 GMT3
We currently have a problem. Passing dates through the gateway as
date('25/01/2004') works as we might expect (this is DD/MM/YYYY -
Multinational date format), however where dates are specified as default
values, where this syntax cannot be used, eg.:
ima architecture18 Mar 2004 17:10 GMT3
Anyone used the imadb database for monitoring? I'm writing a VB app that can
instantly show what sessions are locking (for non techies to use).
In my mind I need to use the ima_locks table, and then join this to
ima_server_sessions to get the session ids.

Hi Dudes,
I know this question has been asked before, but is there anyway to
increase the formatted query length returned in iimonitor?
IIRC someone was raising this as a DAR.

Terrorist attrocity in Spain.15 Mar 2004 10:12 GMT1
To all our friends in Spain, may I say how deeply sorry I am for this most
appalling outrage. I hope the bastards who did this are brought to justice
   quickly.

Association timeout14 Mar 2004 12:49 GMT2
How does the association timeout value in cbf work (in Ingres II 2.0
axm/vms)? We want to disconnect user session who have been inactive
for (say) 20 minutes, but what would happen to batch jobs which are
doing large queries and don't return a value for 20 minutes?
