I just downloaaded Ingres R3 for Linux and noticed it only supports (is
supported by?) the Linux 2.4 kernel.  When will a version for the 2.6
kernel be available?  (Guess it is a good thing I have held off upgrading
my SuSE 9.0 (2.4 kernel) to 9.1 (2.6 kernel).

Does the presence of any of these characters $ {} /  . _  in an update
set string require special handling?
