We have tables in our schema with columns of type VARCHAR, CHAR, TEXT
and C
If a join occurs between a column of type TEXT and a column of type
VARCHAR (or C and CHAR) does this mean casting occurs and indices may

I am unable to kill two sessions that iimonitor marks them as:
cs_state: CS_COMPUTABLE cs_mask: CS_DEAD_MASK,CS_IRPENDING_MASK
I have tried:
- Kill them with ipm. After it, ipm informed that session was removed,

I was wondering what real-world uses there are for visual DBA?
I am thinking in terms of monitoring large, reasonably stable,

I'm running IngresII2.6/0305 patch 9892 on a linux box.
A weekend process to modify tables in a database caused some
segmentation violations shown in the errlog. A subsequent attempt to

I'm getting an intermittent, non-reproduceable error when running the
copydb command. Example copydb command and error included below. An
integer overflow error is produced.

Here's an interesting one.
Not being sure how Ingres handles LOBs, I started snooping around.
I noticed for long varchar, Ingres creates a catalog table to store
the actual data. Some cryptic table name i.e. iietab_77blabla.....

I've recently installed Apache 2.0.54 and then installed ingres r3
3.0.2 using the ICE option. Has anyone managed to do this successfully?

I am using Ingres R3 Open Source on W2K platform . My problem :
Boxes and Lines of Tables and Programs are not appearing
perfectly, Instead of some funny characters are appeared. I have

If you set the connect_limit in CBF to 256 - do you really get 256
connections available to you, or are part of those used up by internal
system connections?  
Ii have Ingres II 2.0 patch 9599 on AIX.
