There's an apparent bug in ingres version

I'm running IngresIIR3 patch 11577.
I have a database (journalled), a table (journalled) on which I'm
applying constraints of various types. The PK, FK and Check
constraints are all happy to be applied but the unique constraint fails

We have a program that uses a remote Ingres database server. When the remote
server reboots the database connection handle is offcourse not valid
anymore. Is there a way to see that the remote server has rebooted? If so
what is the best way to handle this? I suppose a close is not ...

I have to do a performance test on severall different sets of queries. (The
old queries of the client and my replacement queries.) But to get a
reliable result the cache does have to be cleared before every query

To get number of returned rows directly in sql, I usually write sql
this way:

We are using Ingres Linux Version II 3.0.2.
I was asked to optimize some queries that where using views. The queries
took up to 12 minutes to execute. I rewrote them not using views and the
new queries execute in around 1/3 of a second. Not bad indeed. ;-}

Are there someone who have experience with using Ingres ore better
Ingres 2006 on a IBM x3950 with Linux.
We are interested in how the performance is on x3950.
We are also interested to get a recommendation for a file system.

When running the optimizedb, I'm having the foloowing error!
Any help will be welcome!
