| [Info-Ingres] FW: Ingres ODBC Driver Support REPETED ? | 28 May 2008 22:49 GMT | 2 |
Hello Thiago, The Ingres ODBC driver does not support repeated queries at the present time. I recommend instead using SQLPrepare() and SQLExecute(), as these provide even better improvements in performance than repeated queries. I'm not sure what an "Ingres 2.6 Administrator" is. ...

| automated reformatting of 4GL and W4GL code? | 19 May 2008 18:47 GMT | 3 |
I'm looking for something like the GNU "indent" utility for C code: a utility that reformats 4GL and OpenRoad/W4GL source into a standard layout. I need to do this for ESQL/C also, but I think I can accomplish that with a little python scripting and "indent".

| Using UUIDs | 11 May 2008 08:30 GMT | 8 |
I am looking at using uuid_create() to generate UUIDs. The SQL Reference Manual talks about the internal structure of the UUIDs generated but I am extremely unclear about whether the value actually returned can be parsed as described. I do know UUIDs come in different ...

| [Info-Ingres] page_size on iietabs | 07 May 2008 14:11 GMT | 1 |
I have a table with 4 long varchar columns. The table itself has only 793613 rows on 142675 pages, but one of its supporting iietabs has just reached the magical 8.3million rows (1 row per page). And so now an insert into the table fails as the blob table cannot be extended.

| Is the "ckpdb iidbdb" process uniquely vulnerable to active sessions? | 02 May 2008 01:58 GMT | 2 |
Don't laugh, but I am still using IngresII 2.5 on Reliant UNIX. Every 6 months or so our weekly iidbdb online "ckpdb" batch job hangs, locking the entire installation. Last time the final part of the log file was "CPP: Preparing stall of database, active xact cnt: 2".
